Insufficient recycling of e-waste into the recycling system calls for integration

“There is no rubbish on the earth. Only resources are misplaced.” At the Tianjin Ziya Circular Economy Industrial Zone, when it was discovered that all the automobile dismantling enterprises in Tianjin were gathered here, the pioneer in the field of auto parts and remanufacturing in China and the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Xu Binshi said.

Recently, in the "recycling economy expert line" Tianjin station research, academicians Xu Binshi and Jin Yong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and more than 10 experts engaged in circular economy research have entered into circular economy enterprises to hold discussions with business management personnel to help them analyze problems and make suggestions. .

“Tianjin is one of the regions that earlier advocated the development of circular economy in China. At present, the city already has six national circular economy demonstration pilots such as Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, Beijiang Power Plant, and Tianjin Ziya Circular Economy Industrial Zone.” Director Yang Zhenjiang said.

The Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone has attracted a large number of e-waste, scrap and other resource projects. Taiding (Tianjin) Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. of the park processed more than 23,000 tons of electronic waste last year. The gold extracted from these wastes has 18 kg, thousands of tons of copper. Jiang Zhiping, vice chairman of the company, said that in the North China, more than 150,000 tons of e-waste is produced each year, and less than 10% of the e-waste enters the recycling system. Without policy support, the survival and development of circular economy enterprises will face tremendous pressure.

Professor Du Huanzheng, deputy dean of Zhejiang Jiaxing University, said that at present, the total amount of waste metals that can flow around the world is about 18 million tons, and China can only get 8 million tons of them. He suggested that the country should coordinate the number of circular economy parks as a whole.

Liu Qiang, secretary-general of the China Recycling Resource Recycling Association, said that domestic management of renewable resources has never been unified into one department. He suggested that Tianjin can now issue local regulations or rules based on its own characteristics and provide corresponding preferential policies and safeguard measures.
