Early on Sunday morning (April 21, 2019), emergency responders from Lyons Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Forest View Terminal Drive and Harlem Avenue following a serious collision involving a passenger vehicle and a gasoline tanker. According to reports, the car had become wedged beneath the massive tanker, leaving the driver trapped inside. Firefighters quickly mobilized to stabilize the scene and began working to extricate the trapped individual.
Due to the hazardous nature of the incident—given the involvement of a fuel tanker—the emergency response team called in additional support. A specialized Foam Task Force was urgently summoned from O'Hare International Airport to assist the local firefighting units.
