The automotive industry has a bright future for the development of the rubber industry

Experts expect that from the beginning of 2005, the Chinese automobile market will experience a new round of growth. In the medium and long term, the development prospects of the Chinese auto industry are broad, and will grow at a rate of 10% to 15% in the next ten years. In 2010, the output is expected to reach 8 million, and the output in 2020 is expected to increase to 12 million.

The rapid development of the automobile industry puts forward new requirements for rubber products and materials for vehicles. In particular, the demand for special rubbers with excellent performance will bring a rare opportunity for the development of China's special rubber. At the same time, the development of China's special rubber industry will also promote the localization of auto parts.

According to the statistics and forecasts of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the demand for several major specialty rubbers in the Chinese auto industry in 2005 was: butadiene butadiene rubber (mainly hydrogenated nitrile rubber) 14,300 tons, acrylic rubber 0.84 million tons, fluorine rubber 0.5 million tons, 0.35 million tons of chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, 0.35 million tons of silicone rubber, and 0.2 million tons of chlorine alcohol rubber. In addition, some high-performance special butyl rubbers are also needed.

The main materials of rubber parts used in China's auto industry are mostly traditional rubbers such as natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, neoprene rubber, and ethylene propylene diene rubber; and acrylic rubber, fluorine rubber, silicone rubber, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, etc. Only a small amount of special rubber applications, the main reason is that currently there are few varieties of special rubber products in China, the production did not form a scale, the product did not form a series, many need to rely on imports from abroad. This has considerably limited and affected the development of Chinese automotive rubber products in the direction of high performance.

The rapid development of China's auto industry will impose higher requirements on the quality, performance and quantity of automotive rubber products, which will stimulate and stimulate the development of the domestic special rubber industry.

In 2003, China's fluorine rubber production capacity was only about 0.25 million tons, and the variety is single, mainly fluorine rubber type 26, and its performance is not as good as imported products. In addition to the automotive industry, the demand for fluoroelastomers in the domestic aerospace, water conservancy facilities and other fields will also grow rapidly. It is expected that the demand for fluorine rubber in China will be 0.65 million tons and 10,000 tons in 2005 and 2010, respectively. At present, perfluoroelastomer rubbers, vinylidene fluoride rubbers, phosphazene fluoroelastomers, tetrafluoroethylene/propylene rubbers, and fluorinated rubbers that do not need to be vulcanized are widely used in foreign auto industries. Many of them are still blank in China.

Acrylate rubber China's production capacity in 2003 was about 0.2 million tons, and the output was about 0.13 million tons, mainly chlorine-based products, with very few ethylenic and epoxy types. The rubber is called "automobile glue" in the automotive industry. It is expected that the demand for acrylic rubber in China's auto industry will reach 14,000 tons in 2010. At present, the domestic synthesis technology is relatively mature.

Chlorohydrin rubber China's production capacity in 2003 was about 0.2 million tons, and the output was about 0.14 million tons. The application of chlorohydrin rubber in auto parts is very promising.

Silicone Rubber

In 2003, China’s production capacity was about 0.25 million tons, but the amount of goods was very small, only tens of tons. It was mainly used in the fields of medical care and wire and cable, and there were few varieties used in the automotive industry. At present, Zhejiang Yongkang Huajian Silicone Rubber Company and Shandong Dongyue Group are all planning to build a new device for silicone rubber.

Hydrogenated nitrile rubber is currently the only domestic 15 tonne/year pilot plant constructed by Sinopec Lanhua Petrochemical Company using the homogeneous catalytic hydrogenation technology of lanthanide catalyst solution, which is far from meeting the market demand.

Chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber In 2003, China's production capacity was about 0.6 million tons, and its output was about 0.45 million tons. Except for the large scale of Jilin Chemical Company, the rest of the enterprises were small-scale production, and the process was backward, basically using carbon tetrachloride solvent. Process; At present, the demand for chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber in China's automobile and other fields has reached about 0.8 million tons, and domestic production cannot meet the demand.

China's auto industry is in a period of rapid development at scale, grade, and level. More and more high-tech products are used in the manufacture of automobiles, especially cars.

In the face of the good demand for special rubber for automobiles, it is essential for China to develop special rubber machines. In the future, China should make full use of its own fluorite resources, and introduce foreign capital and technology to develop fluoroelastomers; on the basis of existing production, increase production and application technology development of acrylic rubber; use nitrile rubber of Lanzhou Petrochemical Branch Company of CNPC Installations to develop nitrile rubbers for high-performance automotive rubber products; Expand the production scale of chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber plants at Jilin Chemical Co., Ltd. and adopt environmentally friendly non-tetrachlorocarbon solvents or solid phase production processes as soon as possible; , Chlorohydrin rubber R & D. China's special rubber products for automobiles should develop in the direction of high performance, specialization and localization.
