ArvinMeritor announced on September 24 that it has opened a new technology center in Bangalore, India, to better seize the development opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, especially China and India.
The technology center will have product design, CAE, and full test capabilities. It will also become a design center for ArvinMeritor in the Asia-Pacific region, and will lead product development plans for drive shafts and brake components for commercial vehicles in the Asia Pacific region. Provided engineering services for ArvinMeritor's business in North America, South America and Europe.
“We established a technology center in Bangalore more than 10 years ago. Now is the second stage of our further promotion in India. He also said that sales in the Asia Pacific region currently account for about 10% of ArvinMeritor’s global sales ($7.2 billion). Of these, 40% or 288 million US dollars came from India.
"The technical center has 75 employees and will add another 30 engineers by the end of the year," said Nagaraja Gargeshwari, engineering director and field manager of the technology center.
In addition to India, Arvin Meritor also has R&D laboratories in Troy, Italy, Cameri, Italy, and Cwmbran, UK.
