+ SOCKET WELD FITTINGS
A socket weld is a type of pipe connection where the pipe is inserted into a recessed area of a valve, fitting, or flange. Compared to butt-weld fittings, socket weld fittings are typically used for small-diameter piping (small bore piping), generally for pipes with a nominal diameter of NPS 2 or smaller.
These joints use fillet-type seal welds to connect the pipe to valves, fittings, or other sections of pipe. Socket-welded joints are ideal when high leakage integrity and structural strength are critical design considerations.
Although fatigue resistance is lower than that of butt-welded joints due to the use of fillet welds and abrupt geometry, it is still superior to most mechanical joining methods.
Socket weld fittings are widely used in high-pressure industrial applications.

+THREADED FITTINGS
Threaded joints are one of the oldest methods of connecting piping systems. Like socket weld fittings, threaded fittings are commonly used for small-diameter piping (small bore piping), usually for pipes with a nominal diameter of NPS 2 or smaller.
