Lisle-Woodridge FPD Dive Drill

Josh Boyajian shared some great photos from a winter dive drill that took place today, organized by the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District (FPD) at a local pond on Front Street in the Lisle Park District. The training involved four divers entering the water where the ice was 7 inches thick, simulating real-life rescue scenarios in icy conditions. Squad 525 and Truck 517 were on-site to support the operation.

This kind of training is crucial for emergency responders, especially in regions where icy conditions are common. It ensures that firefighters are prepared for any situation, including rescues from frozen bodies of water. The drills help maintain readiness, build teamwork, and reinforce safety protocols under challenging conditions.
