On May 21st, the launching ceremony of OSZ China Wuxi Plant was held in Wuxi New District Factory, which will strengthen its leading position in the LED market.
The Wuxi plant in China is built and operated by OSRAM's Osram Semiconductor Co., Ltd., and its main business is LED chip package. This is the company's second back-end factory and the other is located in Penang, Malaysia. In addition, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has two chip front-end manufacturing facilities in Regensburg, Germany and Penang, Malaysia.
According to public information, in May 2012, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors signed an agreement with Wuxi New District Government to establish its third LED factory in the world in Wuxi New District. On August 8, 2012, OSRAM Wuxi LED Assembly Factory officially started construction.
It is reported that Wuxi plant invests hundreds of millions of euros, covers an area of ​​100,000 square meters, and can produce billions of LED optoelectronic semiconductor components every year. By 2017, the number of employees will reach 2,100.
