Schaeffler Expands 150 Million Euros in India



Recently, Matthias Zink, head of Schaeffler's automotive business unit in Asia Pacific, said that Schaeffler will invest 150 million euros in the expansion of its three existing plants in India and a new plant in Savli, Gujarat, India. The new plant will be used to produce low-friction ball bearings.

Schenk also said that Schaeffler plans to recruit 1,200 new employees within three years and that its number of employees in India will reach 3,500.
It is reported that Schaeffler's major customers in India include Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra. Sales in the Indian market account for 5% of Schaeffler’s global sales.
