Thursday evening turned into quite the scene at the Crescent Cardboard Company located at 100 West Willow Road. The Wheeling and Prospect Heights Fire Departments were quickly called in to handle an industrial accident involving one of the workers. It seems that the unfortunate individual had their arm caught between the rollers of a machine used for pressing cardboard. The firefighters worked tirelessly for nearly 70 minutes to carefully extract the trapped worker. In the end, Flight For Life was summoned to transport the injured person to the nearest trauma center.
I happened to be nearby when all this unfolded and decided to document the entire event. Tim Olk and I headed straight to the scene to capture every detail of the patient transport. As you can see from the images below, the situation was both tense and critical.

It was an unforgettable experience witnessing the coordinated efforts of multiple emergency services working together under pressure. The dedication and professionalism displayed by everyone involved were truly commendable. The injured worker was in good hands, and I hope they make a full recovery soon. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the inherent dangers faced daily by those working in industrial settings.
