Antioch garage fire 4-6-11
Firefighters are working to extinguish remaining hotspots during the overhaul of a detached garage on Birchwood in Antioch. This image captures the aftermath of the fire on Wednesday. The incident was reported at 2:30 PM, and emergency crews arrived to find a two-car detached garage fully engulfed in flames. The fire quickly spread to a camper and a boat in the driveway, resulting in total destruction. Local firefighters were assisted by units from Fox Lake, Lake Villa, and Round Lake. Preliminary investigations suggest the cause of the fire was electrical.
