Silicone bushings serve as liners and are commonly used in valve applications, where they are placed in the valve bonnet to wrap around the valve stem. A bushing, or silicone bushing, is a type of vibration isolator that provides an interface between two parts, helping to dampen energy transmission and absorb shocks while reducing vibrations through the bushing.

 Bushing Function
If a bushing becomes worn, it can be replaced conveniently. Without using a bushing, you would have to replace the entire part once wear occurs. Nowadays, people tend to replace the bushing (while designing, the hardness of the bushing can be reduced to act as a bearing grinding of the friction pair), due to its convenient processing, low replacement cost, and ease of replacement. It also includes other secondary functions, such as a guiding function, among others.

A common application of bushings is in vehicle suspension systems, where a bushing made of rubber (or more often, synthetic rubber or polyurethane) separates the faces of two metal objects while allowing a certain amount of movement. This allows the suspension parts to move freely, for example, when traveling over a large bump, while minimizing the transmission of noise and small vibrations through to the chassis of the vehicle. A silicone bushing may also be described as a flexible mounting or anti-vibration mounting.
