Recently, a reporter learned from the Provincial Science and Technology Department that the International Science and Technology Cooperation Project titled "Cooperative Research on Multi-functional Water Storage and Conservation Farming Tools," led by the Provincial Agricultural Machinery Research Institute, has successfully passed its acceptance test in Changchun. This innovative farming equipment marks a significant step forward in advancing agricultural modernization in Northeast China. According to the report, the project has effectively combined modern agronomic practices with advanced engineering technologies, creating a tailored conservation farming system suitable for the unique conditions of the Northeast region. The team also developed a new type of tillage and planting machinery, featuring independent intellectual property rights. In collaboration with the American company PTI, they adapted and improved the U.S.-developed no-till precision planter technology, customizing it for corn and soybean cultivation in the area. The result is the 2BM-4 no-till precision planter, which addresses key challenges in conservation agriculture, such as effective water storage and proper seed placement under straw residue conditions. This advancement not only enhances the efficiency of conservation tillage but also supports sustainable farming practices, helping farmers reduce soil erosion and improve long-term productivity. This breakthrough is expected to have a lasting impact on agricultural development in the region, offering a practical and environmentally friendly solution for farmers looking to adopt more efficient and eco-conscious methods.
