Sinopec comprehensively enhances the market competitiveness of chemical products

In 2008, the Sinopec Chemical Sales Annual Work Conference emphasized the need to enhance institutional mechanisms, strengthen internal management, elevate service standards, and significantly boost the competitiveness of China's chemical product market. In that year, the company sold 21.88 million tons of chemicals, a 11.5% increase from the previous year, with a production-sales ratio of 99.8% and a sales plan completion rate of 101.5%. Self-operated trade volumes also rose by 150,000 tons, reflecting improved operational flexibility. The conference identified nine key priorities for 2008. These included establishing standardized systems, enhancing financial and marketing management, strengthening audit processes, and improving overall operational efficiency. It also called for more focused market research, better resource allocation, and improved marketing strategies. Additionally, the company aimed to refine its performance management system, build a strong sales network, and integrate research and development with market needs to drive innovation in new chemical products. Efforts were also made to streamline pre-sales activities, ensure timely project completions, and improve logistics infrastructure. The conference emphasized the need for efficient information systems, optimized logistics management, and stronger leadership development. Zhang Jianhua stressed the importance of aligning production and sales, improving centralized sales models, and accelerating the construction of a modern logistics system. He also called for enhanced market research, strategic pricing, and team building to ensure long-term success. The meeting concluded with recognition of outstanding experts and young professionals from Sinopec Corp., as well as a screening of an anti-corruption educational film.
