Chicago 2-11 Alarm fire at 2917 W. Irving Park Road 3-10-14

A working fire was reported at 2917 W. Irving Park Road in Chicago just before 3 AM this morning. The structure involved was a single-story, 100 by 150-foot building with an ordinary construction type and a truss roof. As soon as the initial call came in, the alarm was upgraded to a Box Alarm, and a 2-11 was requested 20 minutes later, indicating a significant escalation in the response. Emergency crews arrived on scene quickly, and several photographers captured the early stages of the fire.
