The heat exchanger for large generator sets manufactured by Zhejiang Zhuji Dunan Heat Exchanger Co., Ltd. has recently passed the on-site acceptance inspection conducted by the Quality Management Department of Japan Ebara Co., Ltd. This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first large-scale heat exchanger produced in China to meet the stringent requirements of a global industrial leader.
Japan Ebara Co., Ltd. is a well-known Japanese company specializing in the production of large commercial air conditioning systems. Their heat exchangers are known for their high technical specifications, with dimensions reaching up to 4.2 meters in length and 2 meters in width. Each unit weighs over 600 kilograms, which presents considerable challenges during manufacturing. Additionally, the visible surface must not be rewound, requiring extremely precise and meticulous processing.
According to industry sources, last year Sugawara, a key client, commissioned a Shanghai-based company to search for Chinese suppliers. However, the quality of the initial samples did not meet Ebara's expectations. In response, Zhejiang Zhuji Dunan Heat Exchanger Co., Ltd. quickly formed a temporary project team, trained all involved operators and inspectors according to strict procedures, and ensured full compliance with Ebara’s standards.
Throughout the production process, technicians and quality control personnel closely monitored every step, from cutting and matching to expansion and welding. No detail was overlooked. The fins used in the heat exchangers are made of high-quality hydrophilic foil, and the design follows international trends with corrugated sheet technology. After each stage of production, the fin surfaces were immediately protected to prevent damage during painting, installation, and lifting.
During the on-site inspection, Mr. Ito from Ebara's quality management department expressed full satisfaction with the product, praising its quality and craftsmanship. Currently, the company has successfully completed the production of small batches that meet Ebara’s requirements. Several custom tube sets are now in the production phase based on Ebara’s detailed drawings.
This achievement not only highlights the growing capabilities of Chinese manufacturers but also opens new opportunities for future collaboration with global industry leaders.
