Second, the development direction of small profiles According to incomplete statistics, the production capacity of small sections in enterprises above the county level in our country exceeds 50 million tons, among which there are more than 90 sets of continuous and semi-continuous small rolling mills, with a total production capacity of approximately 40 million tons/year, accounting for small size About 80% of the total capacity of the rolling mill.
Local private steel companies have developed rapidly and their products are mainly small profiles and wire rods. It is predicted that there will be a gap of 10 million tons and 18 million tons of small profile production capacity in 2005 and 2010, and the new capacity can fully meet the needs. At the same time, blind increase in production capacity and excess production capacity should also be controlled. In the future, domestic steel companies will gradually eliminate horizontal small mills.
Third, the development direction of wire According to statistics, the current total domestic wire rod mill design capacity of about 34 million tons, of which 55 have been put into operation high-speed wire rod mill design production capacity of 27 million tons, accounting for about 79.4% of the total wire rod production capacity. In addition, 10 sets of high-speed rolling mills are currently under construction, with an additional production capacity of approximately 5 million tons.
Wire rods are the second only to small sections in terms of steel consumption. According to the actual consumption of wire rods in recent years, the wire consumption ratio is basically around 17%. In 2005, the balance between supply and demand was basically balanced. In 2010, there was a shortfall of 500 to 6 million tons, and the new capacity was fully able to meet the needs. In the future, domestic iron and steel enterprises will gradually eliminate double-strand wire rod mills and increase output of wire rods for production of alloy steel wire rods and steel cords.
Fourth, the development direction of seamless pipe China's seamless pipe production capacity reached 6 million tons, of which there are four sets of advanced rolling pipe unit, the production capacity of 1.45 million tons; oil well pipe production capacity of about 900,000 tons. The current production and consumption of seamless pipes are basically the same, but there are still the following problems in terms of product quality, product quantity and equipment level:
First, the production capacity of high value-added special pipes is still insufficient and the competitiveness is poor. High-grade oil well pipes and high-pressure boiler tubes cannot fully meet the needs of users. Second, the overall production equipment for small-diameter seamless pipes (<φ140mm) is still relatively backward, and 30-40% of the products are still produced using the perforated-cold-drawing process of the backward automatic pipe mill, which has high energy consumption and pollution. Third, there is still a certain gap in the production capacity of large-size (φ273-426mm) seamless pipes, and the overall equipment level is the most backward.
During the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period, seamless tubes under construction include the newly-built φ168mm continuous rolling mill of Tianjin Pipe Company, the transformation and construction of a φ159mm continuous rolling mill unit at Ansteel, and the new high-grade oil well production line at Baotou Steel. The proposed projects include Hualing Group's φ340mm continuous rolling mill unit, Chengdu's newly constructed φ340mm continuous rolling mill unit, and the transformation and construction of a φ168mm continuous rolling mill unit. After the above projects are completed, the seamless pipe production capacity in China will reach 6.5 million tons or more, and the oil well pipe production capacity will reach 1.05 million tons, which can basically meet the domestic market demand in 2005.
After the implementation of the seamless pipe project during the “Tenth Five-Year Plan” period, the number of 2010 will be 100 to 1.5 million tons, and at the same time there will be about 800,000 tons of cold-drawn products produced by behind-the-process technology, which should be eliminated. The key seamless pipe enterprise group will appropriately expand the scale through structural adjustment and focus on the construction of small-caliber continuous pipe mills to replace the perforated and cold drawn production processes of the backward small-caliber automatic pipe mills.
Fifth, the development direction of the heavy rail The existing rail-girder production capacity can fully meet the needs. At present, the heavy rail production lines at Panzhihua Iron & Steel, Baotou Steel and Anshan Iron & Steel Group are undergoing technological transformation. The specific contents include the transformation of steelmaking, refining systems, bloom casters, and universal mills to improve product quality. After the completion of the transformation, they can adapt to railway speeding and construction of high speeds. Railway requirements.
Sixth, the development direction of the profile in the current general domestic profile mill production capacity can fully meet the market demand. However, most of them are based on horizontal rolling mills. The product quality is poor, the production efficiency is low, and the finished product rate is low. In recent years, two new modern medium-sized rolling mills (such as medium-sized Laiwu Steel and Jiangsu Xingcheng Medium-sized) have been built, and the development speed is far lower than that of other types of rolling mills.
It is estimated that there will be a gap of 100 to 2 million tons in 2005, and there will be a gap of 400 to 5 million tons in 2010. In the future, domestic steel companies will build modern continuous medium-sized rolling mills, improve the overall technology level and product quality, and meet the market demand in quantity and quality.

Development direction of welded pipe and cold-formed steel According to incomplete statistics, there are currently 1,800 sets of various types of welded pipe and cold-formed steel units with an annual production capacity of over 25 million tons, and the number of equipment and production capacity ranks first in the world. In 2002, the actual output was about 11 million tons (the national statistical output was 701 million tons), and the production capacity was seriously excessive. The market competition was fierce.
At present, the main problems in the production and consumption of welded pipes and cold-formed steels in China are as follows: large-sized welded pipe units with a diameter of φ76mm or less, and the level of equipment being backward; low-level vicious competition, repeated construction, and state-owned enterprises have withdrawn from competition in previous years; Straight seam welded pipe production capacity is low.
In the future, domestic steel companies will increase the production capacity of medium and large sized straight seam welded pipes, actively organize the production of high-quality special pipes, and increase the added value of products. In the “10th Five-Year” and 2005, the varieties with good application prospects in the welded pipe and cold-formed steel market include medium and large-diameter line pipe, straight seam welded pipe casing for petroleum wells, cold-formed steel for steel structures, and large-size square rectangular cold-formed steel.
