China developed a new type of valve mechanical code anti-theft lock

In the global city's supporting pipeline networks, a vast number of valves are used across various industries such as heating, water supply, gas, liquid transport tankers, petroleum, and chemical plants. However, the frequent occurrence of valve theft has become a serious concern for governments worldwide, posing significant safety risks and operational challenges. To address this critical issue, researchers at Yantai Shuangyu Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. in China have developed an innovative mechanical code anti-theft lock specifically designed for valves. This groundbreaking technology has been granted an invention patent by the State Intellectual Property Office, marking a major advancement in valve security. The valve password anti-theft lock offers multiple protective functions, including resistance to drilling, cutting, pulling, and forced opening. Each lock can be programmed with unique passwords, ensuring that only authorized personnel can operate the valve. When the valve is set to either open or close, the handwheel remains idle, preventing unauthorized access. Only when the correct code is entered will the handwheel connect with the valve stem, allowing it to rotate and function properly. Additionally, the valve stem is enclosed within a protective jacket, making it impossible for standard tools to manipulate it. This design not only enhances security but also reduces the risk of tampering and theft, providing a reliable solution for industries that rely heavily on safe and secure pipeline systems. The innovation brings peace of mind to operators and significantly reduces the financial and operational losses caused by valve theft.
