China developed a new type of valve mechanical code anti-theft lock

In the global city's supporting pipeline network, a massive number of valves are used across various industries such as heating, water supply, gas, liquid transport tankers, petroleum, and chemical plants. However, the frequent occurrence of valve theft has become a major concern for governments due to the safety risks it poses. To address this issue, researchers at Yantai Shuangyu Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. in China have developed a specialized mechanical code anti-theft lock designed specifically for valves. This innovative solution effectively prevents valve theft and has been granted an invention patent by the State Intellectual Property Office. The valve password anti-theft lock features multiple security functions, including resistance to drilling, cutting, pulling, and forced opening. Each lock can be programmed with unique passwords, ensuring that only authorized personnel can operate the valve. When the valve is set to either open or close, the handwheel remains idle, preventing unauthorized access. However, when adjustments are needed, the password is entered, allowing the handwheel to connect with the valve stem and enable rotation. Additionally, the valve stem is enclosed within a protective jacket, making it impossible for standard tools to manipulate it. This advanced locking system significantly enhances the security of critical infrastructure and reduces the risk of theft and tampering.
