Goodyear plans to relocate its Latin American headquarters to the United States next year
According to foreign reports, in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs, Goodyear plans to relocate its headquarters in Latin America from São Paulo, Brazil to Akron, the United States. Goodyear said it expects that from 2015 onwards, 30-50 jobs will be relocated to its headquarters in Akron, Ohio. Since moving out of Akron in 2005, the company’s Latin American regional headquarters has been located in São Paulo. A Goodyear spokesman said the company’s Brazilian office will remain in São Paulo. In addition, Goodyear has yet to move its headquarters in other regions to Akron. It is reported that Goodyear’s relocation of the Latin American leadership team to Akron will help the company to define its market position, make full use of resources, grasp the opportunities of globalization, effectively reduce costs and increase overall efficiency.
